After BDS most graduates are in limbo- about 20% of them are in state that they have decided what to do with their future, rest are perplexed, confused and plain depressed.
Following are the main options available to BDS grads
1. Join the Army -apply for Army dental corps and serve the country
2. Do MSc in ClinicalReasearch and join the growing pharma and clinical res industry
3. Do MBA in hospital management and join the corporate hospitals
4. Go to a village and do dental work at subsidized rate , (u need less money in villages !)
5. Take a bank loan and start dental clinic in taluka level place in any state in India
6. For Girls ( Get married and ask husband to set up the clinic- even better marry somebody who has a running clinic and ugly receptionist :-)
7. For boys fall in love with a woman dentist who has running practice and stationary love life
8. Go to USA and work in a motel
9. Go to Canada and open up an indian food dhaba
10. Marry a rich widow and relax for rest of your life (ha ha ha !!!)
11. If u still have stamina after the five years of BDS then study for entrance exam and get further frustrated .
12. Your dad has spent some much money on you, u might as well ask for more and join self financing college and buy your degree.
13. Change your line completely and go into computers See the picture above
14. Leave your worries and freak out and enjoy
I went through this phase way back in 1994. Took lucky 13 from your list as an option.This has lead to your option 14 and yes life got meaningful and exciting..
